Join Canonical in Vienna for Valkey Developer Day 2024

Valkey Developer Day is coming to Vienna on September 19 for the first time. This event offers a unique opportunity to network with fellow developers and learn about Valkey’s current innovation and future. Canonical is committed to promoting and advancing the Valkey project, and our team is excited to join the event.

What is Valkey?

Valkey is an open source (BSD) high-performance key/value datastore that supports a variety of workloads such as caching, message queues, and can act as a primary database. Valkey can run as either a standalone daemon or in a cluster, with options for replication and high availability. Valkey is the open source alternative to the Redis in-memory, NoSQL data store.

Canonical’s Talk at Valkey Developer Day

Don’t miss our session, “Ubuntu-based Valkey for Linux and Kubernetes environments” by Cristovao Cordeiro, Engineering Manager at Canonical. The presentation will spotlight several methods for utilising Valkey, such as the “deb”, “snap”, and Docker image packages. Cristovao will break down the relative strengths of the different Valkey packing formats, and their respective use cases. The talk will also outline the future plans of the Ubuntu ecosystem to further support Valkey’s releases and upcoming developments.

Valkey on Ubuntu

Canonical is an enthusiastic contributor to the development of Valkey. Following our mission to bring free software to the widest audience and enable a wide diversity of open source communities to collaborate under the Ubuntu umbrella, Valkey will be released in the upcoming Ubuntu 24.10 (Oracular Oriole).

If you’re hungry to learn more about Valkey, join us on October 1st for Canonical’s Data and AI Masters event. Canonical and the Valkey Community will be hosting a session on “Powering Your Modern Web Applications with Open Source Valkey.” Data and AI Masters is an exclusive online event that provides an in-depth look at the latest innovations in data and AI. You can register for the event here.

Feel free to contact our team now to discuss your Valkey journey. We are just one email away.

See you soon in Vienna!
